How do I know if my team is eligible for Aya benefits:
Aya is available to all registered businesses in Canada—small, medium, large, or enterprise—with one or more employees, with no size restrictions. Self-employed individuals qualify if they receive T4 income from their incorporated business.
For HSAs, employers set up and fund the accounts, defining eligibility based on job level or status for their employees. Eligibility can include full-time, part-time, seasonal, and contract employees, depending on the employer’s plan rules and whether employees are T4’d or T4A contractors under ELHT guidelines.
What if we already have a provider?
No problem! Eligible expenses go to their primary group benefits plan first, then to their partner’s plan if applicable. Any unpaid portions can then be submitted to Aya’s HSA/WSA for comprehensive coverage.

You sure can! Let’s chat about what you’re looking to accomplish. We can also backdate a WSA up to one year and an HSA up to the more recent quarter.
How long does client onboarding take?
Once we receive the completed application, onboarding is completed within 24 hours. You can self enrol or email us if you’d like to be walked through the next steps!
What happens after we onboard?
Once enrolled, the business owner and Plan Admins( if applicable) receive automated welcome emails with everything they need to get started, including team enrollment guides. Your employees, once enrolled will queue for the same automations – invite and welcome emails with everything they need to know.
What happens during renewal season?
Renewal reminders are automated, with notifications sent at 90, 60, and 30 days before renewal. This gives clients time to consider plan updates, like adding HSA/WSA or adjusting class structures. If no changes are required then no action is needed, your plan will auto renew! No increases, just the same great plan.
Will the Aya Plan cost increase year over year?
No, costs only change if the employer updates benefit limits. Any unused funds are returned to you!
Can Aya backdate coverage for new clients?
Yes! WSA can be backdated up to one year, and HSA can be backdated to the most recent quarter.
Does my company need an HR Department to manage Aya?
No HR needed! Aya is designed to be simple and user-friendly for any business size, we also have a fantastic support team for any questions.
